Requirements
Be 18+ (or older where local law requires), pass required identity, residency, and eligibility checks, live in a supported location, and meet any project-specific requirements. No deposit is required.
How it works
Toloka is a task platform where eligible contributors complete small online or mobile assignments for payment. It is not a job board, a salary, or a promise of steady work. The useful question is not “Does Toloka pay everyone?” but whether you can qualify for relevant tasks, complete them accurately, and use an available withdrawal method in your location.
This review uses Toloka’s current publisher-owned app listing and its first-party legal policies. We have not personally tested Toloka, and we do not treat user anecdotes or claimed payout screenshots as proof.
Quick facts
Work type: simple online and mobile tasks, including examples such as checking business contact details and judging whether search results match a query.
Who can join: adults aged 18+ (or older where local law requires) who pass required identity, residency, and eligibility checks.
Task access: varies by profile, location, skills, language, project requirements, and available demand.
Current payout methods we could verify: Payoneer; Papara for Turkish citizens.
Cash-out minimum: unknown — we did not find a current universal threshold in Toloka’s first-party sources.
Deposit required: no.
What is Toloka?
Toloka’s current Google Play listing describes an app for completing simple tasks. Its examples include checking an organisation’s contact information and deciding whether a search result matches a query. The listing also says that stronger skills can unlock more tasks. That makes Toloka a task-based platform: the work you see can change, and qualification matters.
Some projects can have additional requirements beyond having an account. Toloka’s current eligibility policy says a project may require a particular country of residence, work authorisation, language fluency, proven expertise, training, certification, a non-disclosure agreement, or limits on automation and third-party assistance. Being allowed to register does not guarantee that a suitable project will appear.

Task quality and acceptance matter: Toloka pays for accepted work, not simply time spent.
How can you earn on Toloka?
Tasks are offered through the platform and are paid according to the terms of the individual task. Toloka’s user agreement says compensation is based on the accepted result, not the time or effort you spend. In practice, that means it is sensible to read instructions closely, start with tasks you understand, and avoid assuming that a long task will automatically be worth more.
The agreement also allows Toloka to reject a submitted result. It describes one edit-and-resubmit opportunity in some circumstances, after which compensation can still be withheld if the work is rejected. For that reason, Toloka is better viewed as variable side income for eligible contributors, not dependable hourly income.
If you want another task-based platform to compare, see our Clickworker Review 2026. The platforms overlap in the broad microtask category, but tasks, qualifications, locations, and payment options are not interchangeable.
Toloka payouts: methods, thresholds, and timing
Toloka’s current publisher-owned app listing says earnings are paid in US dollars and can be cashed out in local currency through Payoneer. It separately names Papara for Turkish citizens. Availability can depend on your account, country, verification status, and the payout provider’s own rules, so confirm the method shown in your account before doing work primarily for a particular cash-out route.
We could not verify a current, universal Toloka cash-out minimum from Toloka’s current first-party sources. Rather than repeat older thresholds that may no longer apply, this review lists the threshold as unknown.
For timing, the app listing says earnings are credited after the requester accepts the task. Toloka’s January 2025 contributor agreement gives a contractual outer limit of up to 30 days after successful completion and acceptance for credit to the Toloka account, plus up to 30 calendar days for Toloka to send a withdrawal request after you initiate it. Those are contractual maximums, not a promise of a typical payment speed.
Who can use Toloka?
Toloka’s current eligibility policy requires contributors to be at least 18, or older where local law sets a higher age of majority. It also requires successful identity, residency, and eligibility verification. The policy says further screening can be required and that task access or payouts can be limited while requirements are unresolved.
Availability is not worldwide. Toloka lists restricted jurisdictions and a separate list of locations it cannot currently support for identity verification, contracting, or payment reasons. The lists can change. Do not use a VPN, proxy, or inaccurate profile details to try to bypass them: Toloka says doing so can lead to termination and forfeiture of pending payments.

Check your eligibility, location support, and available payout route before investing significant time.
Risks and trade-offs to understand
No guaranteed task supply: projects can be limited by location, skills, language, customer requirements, or demand.
Accepted results matter: rejected or low-quality work may not be paid.
Verification is part of access: identity, residency, and payment checks can affect onboarding and withdrawals.
Automation can put an account at risk: do not use scripts, bots, or generative-AI assistance unless a task specifically permits it.
Some content may be uncomfortable: Toloka’s agreement says some work can involve abusive or adult material.
Taxes and expenses are yours: contributors are independent contractors and remain responsible for their own obligations and costs.
Is Toloka worth trying?
Toloka may be worth a careful look if you are an eligible adult, have an available payout method, and are comfortable completing variable task-based work accurately. The platform’s own materials support the existence of paid tasks and withdrawals, but they do not support treating task availability, earnings, or payment speed as guaranteed.
A practical approach is to verify your eligibility first, inspect the tasks currently available to you, and test only with work you understand. Keep records of accepted tasks and withdrawals, and do not depend on Toloka for bills or a fixed wage.
