What is iSecretShop?

That distinction matters: iSecretShop itself says it does not pay shoppers. Each mystery-shopping provider has its own agreement, which is why a payment amount or timing on one job cannot be treated as a site-wide promise.

How assignments work

1. Register as an adult shopper and complete the required profile details.
2. Read available assignments, provider agreements, task instructions, payment terms, and any out-of-pocket purchase requirement.
3. Request or accept only work you can complete exactly as instructed.
4. Conduct the visit safely and lawfully without misrepresenting your role beyond the assignment’s permitted scenario.
5. Submit the requested report, photos, receipts, or other proof before the deadline.
6. Check the relevant provider’s approval and payment policy.

Detailed instructions are not optional. A report can be rejected or unpaid if evidence is missing, the visit happens at the wrong time, the assignment is compromised, or the provider’s criteria are not met. Consider transport, purchase costs, time, and the possibility of rejection before accepting.

How much can you earn?

There is no dependable platform-wide earnings figure. The provider sets the assignment reward, requirements, reimbursement rules, and approval standard. A higher listed fee may still be poor value if the task requires a long trip, a purchase you would not otherwise make, lengthy reporting, or a risk of rejection.

Judge every offer individually. Calculate the time for travel, the visit, follow-up reporting, and any reimbursement delay. Do not assume that completing one assignment means similar work will be available nearby or that it will pay at the same rate.

Payments, taxes, and verification

iSecretShop’s support says that the individual mystery-shopping provider pays shoppers, and each provider publishes its own policy in its agreement. Its support also says most providers remit via PayPal, while some may use other methods. Payment can be on a monthly schedule or a number of business days after approval, depending on the provider.

The platform’s support says profile information such as name, address, and contact details is needed, and that many providers need data for payment and contractor documentation. Some work can require a W-9 or other local tax documentation. Read every provider agreement before you accept a job and keep your own records; tax treatment depends on your location and circumstances.

Requirements and safety

You need to be an adult, meet the individual assignment’s requirements, and provide the information a provider needs to match and pay you. A phone is useful for mobile evidence, but iSecretShop says it is not universally required. Never trespass, photograph where prohibited, drive unsafely, make a purchase you cannot afford, or accept a task whose terms you do not understand.

Its biggest trade-off is variability: provider-specific pay, approval, payment timing, and contractor requirements mean you should read the agreement for every job rather than relying on general claims.
