What is Dscout?

Dscout connects its Scout participant panel with research projects. The platform calls each study a mission. A mission can ask for a quick response, photo or video diary, product experience, store visit, usability test or live conversation with a researcher.

Applying is not the same as participating. Dscout’s participant help center says applications put your name forward for a mission; the mission leader reviews them and selects people whose profiles and answers fit the research. An application can include written, photo or video answers, but it is not a paid mission by itself.

Applications can ask participants to explain or demonstrate their experience before a researcher selects a mission group.

How Dscout missions work

How much can you really earn?

Dscout’s current participant help says the average payout range for most missions is $25–$150, depending on the time and effort required. Express missions are usually smaller, around $2–$25. Those ranges are not a daily-rate guarantee: a Scout may see few relevant opportunities, be screened out, or wait for an application decision.

Longer Diary and Live missions may have larger stated incentives because they need more time, detail or scheduling. You earn only after completing assigned activities according to the instructions and meeting the project’s quality expectations. Payment and payout timing

Dscout says it sends Dscout-managed rewards via PayPal and currently offers no alternative direct payout method. Add and verify the PayPal email you want to use before completing a paid mission. For standard missions, Dscout says payment should be received within 10 business days after the mission closes, after the mission leader’s review and approval.
